Chef Rachael Zavala received her Culinary education at Diablo Valley College. She's worked at Wente Winery Catering Department, one of the premier wedding and event specialists in Northern California and Perbacco Italian Restaurant in San Francisco as a charcutier.
Chef's focus is on local food, local wines and local beers from the Northern California region. She partners with local farmers, brewers and winemakers to bring a truly unique dining experience you won't find anywhere else.
Who we are
At The Compass Star we house cure every one of our meats in house. We also make our own seasonal pickles and preserves with the freshest ingredients.
In October 2010 we began the process of opening a cafe in lovely Downtown Martinez. The historic Downtown area is the perfect place for practicing the ancient art of Charcuterie and opened our doors in November of 2011.
