What we do!
Chef Rachael is a charcutier, a chef that specializes in Medieval food preservation techniques such as dry curing meat, pickling and making sausages. We use local ingredients when possible including Alhambra Valley Beef and Pears, Beetdown Pharms farm raised chicken eggs, Marin Sun Farms meats and local wines and produce.
Our House Made Products
Every meat on our menu is hand made by Chef Rachael and Staff. We cure, smoke, dry age, pickle and otherwise lovingly tend to every meat/fish/fowl you eat at the Compass Star.
Our Evening Service
We serve hand crafted small plates from local ingredients and local wines and beers, plus a prix fix and wine pairings
Our coffee is locally roasted by John Weaver of Wild Card Roasters. John was master roaster for Pete's Coffee before launchingWild Card Roasters in San Rafael.
